FAQs

Organisations that are interested in evaluating employee work-life balance and well-being often have similar questions about our Assessments. We have set out below our responses to the most frequently asked questions (FAQs). If you need any more information about how we measure staff health, please contact us

Do you provide solutions to the problems that are identified by the Assessments?

We focus only on the measurement aspects of employee well-being and are independent of any solution-based services. We believe this makes our approach more credible as we do NOT want to sell consulting services off the back of the Assessments. However, based on our experience, we are happy to discuss possible ways to address specific areas and put you in touch with potential providers, who we know and trust, if required.

Can organisations change the questions in the Assessment?

The WWBAs are standardised questionnaires that cannot be altered. These items represent the areas that the majority of employees in a particular sector find most troublesome and must therefore remain unchanged. Standardisation also allows companies to benchmark against other organisations.

Can organisations add questions to the Assessment?

Yes. We recognise that some employers may wish to ask extra questions specific to their own situation so we allow companies to add extra items to the questionnaire for a small extra charge. These will be analysed separately from the WWBA findings.

Do the Assessments measure the positive aspects of a job as well as the problem areas?

The WWBAs focuses only on the areas that impair employee well-being. The response scale we use allows people to indicate that they did not experience an item listed, which can be interpreted as a positive indication.

Do the Assessments cover aspects of well-being that organisations are unable to address?

No. Only items that can be influenced by work-place interventions are included in the WWBAs.

What size employee population are the Assessments aimed at?

A minimum employee population of 25 is recommended. There is no maximum number.

Can the Assessments be used on an individual basis?

Yes. The WWBA can be used on an individual basis for situations such as one-on-one coaching sessions. Obviously, anonymity is compromised.

Can the Assessments be used for employees in countries other than the UK?

The WWBAs are appropriate only for the UK and other English-speaking countries. Organisations wishing to use our WWBAs elsewhere should contact info@workandwellbeing.com for further information.

Which industry sectors can use the Assessments?

We have a number of different assessments tailored to particular sectors. Please contact info@workandwellbeing.com for further information.

Does the organisation have access to the identities of those employees who complete the Assessments?

We guarantee the anonymity of all respondents and ensure that the demographics selected do not expose particular individuals. Employees access the Assessment via a generic encrypted password.. They complete the Assessments via our own independent website and we do not ask for email addresses.

How are the WWBAs different to other workplace assessments?

No other workplace assessments measure well-being. Our Assessments evaluate comprehensively how a job impacts all aspects of an individual's sense of well-being. They have also been developed on rigorous scientific principles already used in clinical research.

How much does it cost to administer a WWBA?

Our cost structure comprises a fixed and variable cost. The variable cost is based on a number of factors including the number of demographic questions asked and the number of employees invited to take part. Please contact info@workandwellbeing.com for further details.
